Fancy a meal out without it costing a fortune, get yourself to your nearest Village Hotel for their ‘Girls at the Grill’ deal. You and a friend can enjoy two courses and a glass of fizz EACH for just £29!
Don’t let the name put you off, this deal is open to both men and women and is available every Thursday until December. You must book through the website to get the deal; you can check to see if your local Village Hotel has the offer on HERE. The offer is available at Village Grill and Buca di Beppo restaurants and at £14.50 a person, it’s definitely worth a visit!
You can choose between a starter and a main or a main and a dessert as well as getting a glass of prosecco each. If you are dining at The Village Grill you’ll have the choice of three starters, five mains and three desserts from their set menu. If you are dining at Buca di Beppo you’ll have a choice of four starters, six mains and four desserts from their set menu. Both restaurants have a minute steak option that has a £5 surcharge which is definitely worth it – this is what I chose for my birthday tea and it was delicious! If you opt for the steak it comes with vine roasted tomatoes, watercress and a choice of six side dishes. You can also add a sauce for an extra £1.
The savings that can be made dining on this deal are absolutely brilliant. If you were to order the same items any other day of the week off the main menu it would cost you around £27 each. A glass of prosecco is £6 as are all the starters and desserts. Main dishes range from £12-£16 apart from the minute steak which is priced at £19 (remember this option comes with a £5 surcharge but well worth it for a juicy rump steak).

When I visited my local Village Grill for my birthday with one of my friends the restaurant very kindly surprised me with a HUGE slab of chocolate cake complete with a fountain candle. They waiting staff all sang happy birthday to me – it’s was a little embarrassing but also very nice of them to do. Luckily my friend and I had opted for a starter and main each so both of us shared the cake as our dessert. It was so big that we couldn’t finish it as we were so full from the rest of our meal. If you’re going on your birthday it might be worth mentioning as you might be lucky enough to get an extra freebie too!
The only drawback of the deal is you have to dine in even numbers as the £29 is based on two people dining. Having said that, I doubt anyone would turn down a night out including a two course meal and a glass of prosecco for just £14.50! Rounding up an even number of friends shouldn’t be too difficult.
Happy Dining,
Thrifty Clair x
